Mohua Area
In the NHQ Minutes of 19 December, 1961, it was recorded that the Nelson-Marlborough Area was to be known as RRotoiti ARea (after Lake Rotoiti). However on 27 March, 1962, NHQ was advised that the area would be known as Mohua. Prior to this all districts in this area were autonomous being administerd directly from NHQ in
Wellington.
